My 6-year old Kyle's assigned daily task, since summer vacation began, is to set the breakfast table. The clanging of the plates usually gave Jerry and me the signal to get up from bed. It succeeds in getting us up after the cuckoo clock and alarms have failed. That was during his first few attempts though. Now, Kyle has mastered the art of setting the table to perfection.
