Sinulog Weekend

Jan. 18 - My clock says it's 115am. I'm still up after having slept for an hour right in front of the tv set after dinner. Probably got exhausted driving around after bringing Jerry to the airport before lunch today. Had to get back to the city to fetch Kyle from school at 1130am. The main thoroughfares were clogged up with vehicles probably due to some motorcades (joint Bayantel, Skycable and RCPI to mention one) taking advantage of the Sinulog atmosphere. Enough reason to make me 30 minutes late for Kyle who was already waiting with Maritess. It took me another 30 minutes to get home for lunch. The Sinulog fiesta really brought in a lot of visitors to the province this year (good for tourism!) that's why there are a lot of cars on the streets and people in the malls and chill out places lately.

Jerry and I watched the Miss Cebu pageant last night and were impressed at the whole production. The show gave Jerry a lot of inputs for his upcoming ASPAC convention. Will meet his group soon to finalize details. While at Waterfront Hotel, we spotted prominent and well-heeled people such as Noynoy Aquino (who stood as one of the judges), the Osmenas (Minnie, Tommy and Margot) to name a few. As for the pageant itself, they put a new twist to the "question and answer portion" by having a fast talk between Boy Abunda (of the Buzz fame) and the candidates. Some we found amusing. The winning candidate for this year was really deserving. She's poised, very articulate and is already a known ramp model.

Getting quite late now. The Ayala Center block is closed to motorists today for the Todo Bayle Latino Street Party. I could just imagine the revelry of both Cebuanos and non-Cebuano guests. All the dancing... drinking.... merry-making.... To all - PIT SENOR!
