Oh Lord, I thank you for the storms in my life for they help me to grow stronger as I reach out to you for strength. I pray for the wisdom to prioritize my time that I always have it on my schedule to search your Word that my roots grow deeper and my faith stronger. Amen.
(im starting to post beautiful prayers that capture my/our current sentiment....some are original and some are taken from all over...i guess there's no copyright to prayers...GOD bless!)

Procrastination
Some food for thought for busy people (like Jerry and me)...
Tomorrow is the busiest day of the year.
Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.
The preparation for tomorrow is the right use for this day.
Don't let yesterday's mistakes trouble you, nor tomorrow's fears spoil your day.
Don't boast about what you are going to do tomorrow unless you can say the same thing about yesterday. (--- Croft M. Pentz)
Gearing up for our budget presentation today...

Modelling Career
Rewind. Last Wednesday was the scheduled photo shoot after moving it from the other week because of Jerry's trip to Japan. I almost didn't want to push through with it especially when the ad crew was almost 15 minutes late. I was anxious since I still had loads of work on my office desk at that time (and up until now).
When they finally arrived, they started rearranging my furniture. Then I was prepped with make-up. The eyeshadow, the foundation, the eyeliner felt fine until *YOUCH!* Ferdie Moncada curled my virgin lashes! The touch-up was done in a flash and soon it was Jerry's turn. His face was dabbed with powder to reduce the shine on his cheeks, then some light gloss on the lips.
The setting-up of the digicam (6-12megapixels!) took longer but Jerry and I didn't mind. We were more concerned on how our shots will look. When the actual shoot began, we were seated and prompted to look at the camera, to look this way or that, to smile, to smile some more and to show some teeth. Ok, so this is how a model works....(hehehe)... Is it too late to switch careers now? *kidding*
It was done quick and soon we were viewing the jpegs. Hmm... the shots were not bad... They were not bad at all!

(If you're wondering what this photo shoot is all about... I'm not telling...Nope, not in this post...Well, not yet. So... go figure! :D eeeeks!)

World Meeting of Families
As the fourth World Meeting of Families was being held in Manila, we were also having our own version of meeting of families in Cebu. On Mary's lunch invitation at the City Sports Club, we all gathered for the meal and for the chance to enjoy a relaxing Saturday afternoon. After lunch, Matt, Kyle and cousin Jaymes were off to the pool with Jerry watching over them. The rest of the older cousins played billiards.
While at the club, I initially thought of hooking up to my office server to finalize my opex budget allocation (some technical jargon that simply meant WORK!) so I brought along my laptop. But since it was a wonderfully beautiful day, not too warm, I decided against it. It would have been a waste to spend my time pounding the computer keyboard. So I sank in my chair to enjoy the company of my sisters-in-law as we talked and munched Pringles and slices of fresh fruits.
Later in the afternoon, we all headed for the Ayala mall to spend some time (and bucks hehe) at the Timezone. The place was too crowded and too blaring for me so I went to have my haircut. (Unrelated story... If by chance the owners of Maanyag Salon get to read this post, I hope they take drastic measures to improve the quality of their service. The place was strewn with trolleys containing hair paraphernalia that looked like they haven't been washed in ages! Ick!).
Dinner at home was out of the ordinary. The food was good but Jerry, Matt and I decided to feast on Jerry's preparation of cold soba. It was yummy and we were literally slurping the green soba noodles, the sauce with wasabi and the nori strips. Oh joy! Looking forward to another good day tomorrow....
It's past 10pm now. I guess I better be doing my budget allocation...

Despedida for Marcel and Gret
Had dinner at the Climaco's residence in Ma. Luisa last night with good friends. It was some sort of a send-off party put together by Manny and Monica for Marcel and Gret whose family is off to Missouri after the Jaycee ASPAC this May. Dinner was really sumptuous and I gave in to the temptation of breaking my resolve to start a healthy diet (uh-oh!!!). I tried convincing myself that it was just a small thin slice of lechon skin, a little paella, a piece of chicken wrapped in bacon, a spoonful of lasagna, a roll of ngohiong (yummy!) a little portion of homemade apple pie (the best!) and a glass of red wine, but who was I fooling???? Anyway...
For most of the night, the husbands were all together while the wives were in a separate part of the living room gushing about kids, school, business, and some gossip (oops...hehe). The pleasant exchange of stories had us so engrossed that we were surprised it was already past midnight. A little before 2am, we were on our way home.

Dear God
Below is a cute email I received from Liza... Will surely amuse you...
A nun asked her class to write notes to God. Here are some of the notes the children handed in:
Dear God, instead of letting people die and having to make new ones, why don't You keep the ones You have?
Dear God, maybe Cain and Abel would not have killed each other so much if they had their own rooms. That's what my Mom did for me and my brother.
Dear God, if you watch me in church on Sunday, I'll show you my new shoes.
Dear God, I bet it's very hard for You to love all of everybody in the whole world. There are only 4 people in our family and I'm having a hard time loving all of them.
Dear God, in school they told us what You do. Who does it when You're on vacation?
Dear God, are You really invisible or is it just a trick?
Dear God, did You mean for the giraffed to look like that or was it an accident?
Dear God, who draws the lines around the countries?
Dear God, thank you for my baby brother, but what I prayed for was a puppy.
Dear God, please send me a pony. I never asked for anything before. You could look it up.
Dear God, I want to be just like my Daddy when I get big, but not with so much hair all over.
Dear God, You don't have to worry about me, I always look both ways.
Dear God, I think about You sometimes, even when I'm not praying.
Dear God, of all the people who worked for You, I like Noah and David the best.
Dear God, my brother told me about being born, but it doesn't sound right. They're just kidding, aren't they?
Dear God, I would like to live 900 years just like the guy in the Bible.
Dear God, we read that Thomas Edison made light. But in Sunday school, they say You did it. So, I bet he stole Your idea.

The Other Woman
Please read through the story... I held back a lump in my throat while reading it... Received this from Clare...
After 21 years of marriage, I discovered a new way of keeping alive the spark of love. A little while ago I had started to go out with another woman. It was really my wife's idea. "I know you love her," she said one day, taking me by surprise. "But I love YOU," I protested. "I know, but you also love her." The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my mother, who has been a widow for 19 years, but demands of my work and my three children had made it impossible to visit her occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie. "What's wrong, are you well?" she asked. My mother is the type who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news. "I thought that it would be pleasant to pass some time with you," I responded. "Just the two of us." She thought about it for a moment then said "I would like that very much."
That Friday at work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she too, seemed to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary. She smile from a face that was radiant as an angel's. "I told my friends that I was going out with you and they were impressed," she said as she got into the car. "They can't wait to hear about our meeting".
We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read large print. Halfway through the entree, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips. "It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small!", she said. "Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor," I responded. During the dinner we had an agreeable conversation - nothing extraordinary - but catching up on recent events of each other's life. We talked so much that we missed the movie. As we arrived at her house later, she said "I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you". I agreed.
"How was your dinner date?" asked my wife when I got home. "Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagined," I answered. A few days later my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn't have a chance too do anything for her. Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place mother and I had dined. An attached note said: "I paid this bill in advance. I was almost sure I couldn't be there but, nevertheless, I paid for two plates for you and your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me. I love you." At that moment I understood the importance of saying, in time: "I LOVE YOU" and to give our loved ones the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off to "some other time".

Postscript: I love you Ma! We really appreciate what you do for us especially for Jerry and me. We will do our best to spend more time with you and Papa. We always pray for your good health and that God will keep you and Papa in His care. Mwamwa!

Shangrila Sleepover
Spent Saturday and Sunday at Shangrila with my in-laws. Was hoping the kids and I could hitch a ride going to Mactan but decided to just drive all the way there for a good 45 minutes (including the unusual traffic near Gaisano Mall). While in the car, Jaymie and Kyle hit it off at once and enjoyed each other's company the whole time. Poor Matt who is at an awkward age couldn't seem to fit in with the little ones. As we got to the resort, we tried to catch the 4pm anticipated mass but barely made it to the Gospel (which is the most important part of Sunday Mass and should not be missed!). Then dinner followed courtesy of Tony, at Krua Thai, which by the way, served excellent food. Since we got to the resort late in the afternoon, the kids weren't able to take a swim. After dinner, Mary, Mymy and Lelen dropped by our room (which I shared with Eya and Jaymes) for some wine before calling it a day.
This morning, after a hearty buffet breakfast (and after successfully persuading the waiter that Matt is only 8 years old, thus, still qualified for the free breakfast buffet), we headed for the beach. The little ones and Matt had fun looking at the many schools of fish swimming around as Lelen's friend Bernard acted as their lifeguard cum kidsitter. Ah sweet freedom!...Tee hee! The water was cool and inviting and the weather was warm but I was contented to just wade and take in the fresh sea breeze.
At 1245, while the sun was at its hottest, lunch was a treat from Omid at the Paparazzi. The kids and I had a light meal consisting of fresh fruit juice, authentic Italian pizza, ravioli and some seafood. I would have eaten more but checked myself right away fearing the bulge and reminding myself that I was wearing my wrap-top and board shorts! *ahem-wink-nudge*
Senor Sto. Nino... the Prankster!
Mymy drove my car from the beach. By 530pm, we were racing to make it to the 600pm mass at St. Therese only to find out that we still missed the Gospel. *oh dear*. The next mass was at 715pm at the Redemptorist church, so we decided to drive thru McDonalds Lahug first for some nuggets. With a good 30 minutes before mass, we were well on our way. Jeepers! We almost didn't make it again when all of a sudden the cars in front of us froze in traffic!. Unanimously, we decided to park in the nearest spot we could find (at the same time praying that it wasn't a tow-away zone) and started hiking for about 100 meters. Finally, we were able to hear mass from start to finish.
Taking the wheel, I drove towards Mango avenue enroute to Crest for Erlinda's birthday dinner. Any called at 815pm worried why we haven't arrived. On the way, the streets were littered and traffic was still slow. Sinulog euphoria was still on as we saw band gigs here and there (explains why there was still traffic at 830pm). 5 minutes away from Crest, the light was green but we were again stalled for some reason. The cars were shifting to the right lane so I followed suit. True enough, a big dump truck about 7 cars ahead of us just conked out as if taunting us. As we went past it, it began to move. This time, I took my chances and sped up towards Crest.
What do I know? At Crest, parking was full. We were at the tail-end of the line but we didn't mind. Kids in tow, Mymy, Eya and I walked to the party venue. Ta-da! All eyes were fixed on us as we greeted and smiled apologetically. We hurriedly snuck to the most inconspicuous tables and prepared to get food. Anxious to get our fill, we lined up for another round of........ Krua Thai (same caterer, 2 dinners in a row!).

Sinulog Weekend
Jan. 18 - My clock says it's 115am. I'm still up after having slept for an hour right in front of the tv set after dinner. Probably got exhausted driving around after bringing Jerry to the airport before lunch today. Had to get back to the city to fetch Kyle from school at 1130am. The main thoroughfares were clogged up with vehicles probably due to some motorcades (joint Bayantel, Skycable and RCPI to mention one) taking advantage of the Sinulog atmosphere. Enough reason to make me 30 minutes late for Kyle who was already waiting with Maritess. It took me another 30 minutes to get home for lunch. The Sinulog fiesta really brought in a lot of visitors to the province this year (good for tourism!) that's why there are a lot of cars on the streets and people in the malls and chill out places lately.
Jerry and I watched the Miss Cebu pageant last night and were impressed at the whole production. The show gave Jerry a lot of inputs for his upcoming ASPAC convention. Will meet his group soon to finalize details. While at Waterfront Hotel, we spotted prominent and well-heeled people such as Noynoy Aquino (who stood as one of the judges), the Osmenas (Minnie, Tommy and Margot) to name a few. As for the pageant itself, they put a new twist to the "question and answer portion" by having a fast talk between Boy Abunda (of the Buzz fame) and the candidates. Some we found amusing. The winning candidate for this year was really deserving. She's poised, very articulate and is already a known ramp model.
Getting quite late now. The Ayala Center block is closed to motorists today for the Todo Bayle Latino Street Party. I could just imagine the revelry of both Cebuanos and non-Cebuano guests. All the dancing... drinking.... merry-making.... To all - PIT SENOR!

Plus 2 Less 1
Just came from my mother-in-law's place to welcome Jerry's youngest sister and her son from Australia who arrived at 9PM today. Eya and Jaymes are looking good. Steve stayed behind though, to take care of business. We were amused listening to Jaymie talk with his Aussie twang as Matt and Kyle tried to make out what he was saying. Jaymes is such a smart boy and talks like an adult! Among Mommy's 11 grandchildren, he's the only one who doesn't look the least bit Chinese! Hehe... We stayed for just a while since it's a weekday and the kids still have school early tomorrow. However, there's going to be A LOT of activities lined up for their 4-wk vacation. There's the overnight stay at Shangrila Mactan Resort which Matt and Kyle are looking forward to plus the numerous "eat-outs" with the guests. Busy busy...
Jerry is off to Japan again this weekend. Yes, he will be missing the Sinulog Mardi Gras to attend a Jaycee chapter function in Japan. This will be his third trip to that part of the world since May 2002. We intend to look for business ideas too from there that we could somehow put up here. Like his first two trips, I hope this one is as productive not only for his ASPAC Convention in May but also for whatever venture we are going to pursue.
Blessings everyone!

Hehe... To Teens and Twentysomethings
I got this from Jinky today. When I read through, I just cracked up. If you happen to be a teenager or a twentysomething (born anywhere in the 80's), then this is for you. Really hilarious (well... for me). Just edited a few words with *** to maintain the wholesome theme of our blog. Read on...
Tough Life
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes, about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning uphill both ways through year-round blizzards carrying their younger siblings on their backs to their one-room schoolhouse where they maintained a straight-A average despite their full-time after-school job at the local textile mill where they worked for 35 cents an hour just to help keep their family from starving to death!
And I remember promising myself, that when I grew up, there was no way in h**l I was going to lay a bunch of cr** like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!
> >>BUT.......
Now that I've reached the ripe old age of twenty-nine, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so fr**kin' easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a d**n Utopia!
And I hate to say it but you kids today, you don't know how good you've got it!
I mean, when I was a kid........
We didn't have the Internet - we wanted to know something, we had to go to the library and look it up ourselves!
And there was no email! We had to actually write somebody a letter-with a pen!. And then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the fr**kin' mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!
And there were no MP3s or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to go to the record store and shoplift it yourself! Or we had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and scr*w it all up!
We didn't have fancy cr*p like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal!
And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was..... it could be your boss, your mom, a collections agent, your drug dealer - you didn't know!!! You just had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!
And we didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation videogames with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like "Space Invaders" and "Asteroids", and the graphics sucked! Your guy was a little square! You had to use your imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever!
And you could never win......the game just kept getting harder and faster until you died! JUST LIKE LIFE!
When you went to the movie theater, there was no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! A tall guy sat in front of you, you're scr*wed!
And sure, we had cable television, but back then there were only like 20 channels and there was no on-screen menu! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on!
And there was no Cartoon Network! You could only get cartoons on Saturday morning... ...D'ya hear what the h**l I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK, you spoiled 8ittle brats!
That's exactly what I'm talking about! Kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled, I swear! You guys wouldn't last five minutes back in 1984!

Sinulog in Sto. Nino
Yesterday was a happily busy day for us. We were all dressed early for mass at 1040 at the Redemptorist Church so we would make it in time for Mama Sol's lunch invitation at their residence in Sto. Nino. As we got to the village, we noticed that the homeowners were really into the Sinulog fiesta seriously (though it's one week earlier than the real Sinulog Fiesta of the city). The houses had catering service for their fiesta visitors. At Mama Sol's it was the same scenario. Jerry and I enjoyed SMALL portions of the yummies (diet) but ended up feeling bloated just the same *grins sheepishly*. I had 1 tbsp of kilawin, 3 tbsp of plain rice, 2 tbsp of baked macaroni, 1 large prawn, 2 crab pinchers, about 1 tbsp of crab meat (peeled from the shell by my thoughtful hubby!), a small matchbox-sized lechon skin, a small serving of buko pandan and custard pie. Oh the kids ate all they could (lucky them!).
By 3pm the parade already started. It was a colorful display of costumes and floats by the Sto. Nino villagers complete with hired Sinulog dancers. It was a site especially for Matt and Kyle seeing the performers dance with the blessed Sto Nino icon. The fireworks and beat of the bass drums and snares, though quite deafening, really completed the fiesta atmosphere.

Bey Blade
I'm at home but am hooked to my office server finishing some reports. My concentration on my financial reports is often punctuated with Matthew, what's going on out there? or Kyle stop whining! or Matt and Kyle what's all the noise? or Hey! The two of you, play fair and no teasing! ... I wonder, what's with these Bey Blades anyway that has transformed my boys into warriors of some sort? :D *shakes head in amusement*
If you're just as curious as me to find out what makes these beyblade toys the current craze among kids, check on this official beyblade site before you hear somebody yell "Let it rip!". And oh, watch out for those widly spinning metal & plastic tops!

Forgot to blog about lunch last Sunday, the Feast of the Magi. After the 11AM mass at the sports club, Mama Sol invited us for buffet lunch. It was an impromptu special "eat-together" with her, Papa Lalo, Malou, Bingo, Ethel, Cheska and of course our grand matriarch - Lola Meding, who at 88, still manages to do things for herself. Way to go La!
I wonder if Pa, Ma, and May spent some time with cousin Jun and her wife Nicole.

What It Means To Be Poor
One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor
people can be.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad." "Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked. "Oh Yeah", said the son. "So what did you learn
from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered, "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."
With this the boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are."
Too many times we forget what we have and concentrate on what we don't have. What is one person's worthless object is another's prize possession. It is all based on one's perspective. Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for all the bounty we have, instead of worrying about wanting more.
Take joy in all you have, especially your family and friends. They are our treasures!
Thank you for sharing this piece Jinky!

6:08 PM - Winding up to head for home... I still have a few more things to do before final posting of my adjustments but I will have to put it off for later (before 10 PM, the time our system server auto shuts down). Why put it off? I want to get home before dinner at 7:30 PM to check on my kids and find out if they have new requirements or assignments in school. Maybe banter with them for a another hour before I put them to sleep at 9 PM. Then I log on to my office server... This way, I get to do more and have the best of both worlds...

10:35 AM - Just trying to catch my breath after incessant pounding on the keys right in front of me. I will probably be done with the accounting adjustments before noon today. I can't wait to finish up and do the next tasks. Hmmm, there's the update of the bank recon, account analysis and other month-end and year-end reports. I'd love to see the results if we hit budget this month. Our best effort for the year would probably be 90% of target. I'll soon find that out....

BIBLE IN A YEAR
Many of us Christians (or Catholics for that matter) may profess deep religious faith and convictions or may lead exemplary lives. However, there is a good number too of Christians or Catholics who are like so, but have not read the Bible from cover to cover.
Well, I've decided to do just that (as a 2003 resolution!), read the Bible from start to finish...in a year! Tough but seriously. Searching the net for a reading guide, I came across this site - http://www.bibleinayear.org/ where you register as a member for free and choose the order you want your guide to be: start to finish (Genesis to Revelation), or chronologically. You also get to choose which version of the Bible you want. After signing up, you are lead to the members' area where you now have your own Bible calendar...really cool! And the best part is, via email they send you the text of the assigned chapters for the day. No excuse not being able to read...even at work.
I'm so looking forward to getting on with it that I printed my hardcopy of the guide and set my homepage address to my calendar. Hope I don't miss a day or a chapter! God bless us all!

Back to the Salt Mines
Hi there! Linnor here! Got back to work yesterday after a long vacation and my desk is buried under piles of files. Good thing I've already managed my inbox before 2003 kicked in, I trashed 80 or so messages out of over a hundred. Well, most were just FYI and coordination memoranda that needed minor attention. Right now I'm waiting for all the reports to come in from the Accounting Assistants so that I could consolidate and prepare the month-end and year-end reports for Visayas. At least this affords me some time to blog *snickers*.

12.31.02 What's Up in the New Year
Stayed up the longest time last night thinking about what's in store for the coming new year... I guess life's like that, when you don't know what's up ahead everything is a blur! It seems like everything is just too huge to overcome! Blessing No. 1, got a book from Linnor last Christmas - With GOD All Things are Possible! - and this is what I learned, You do not know how the watchmaker will fix your watch, how the mechanic will fix your car, how the doctor will heal your body. Yet you have faith in their power to do their work. Have you just as much faith in God to let Him work in ways you know not of? Blessing No. 2, God gave me a heart that feels, a mind that gives ideas, and a body that gets things done! And from the same book, It is the law that you should start with what you have and God will do the rest. Blessing No. 3, I now recognize that all my blessings come from God! Count your blessings and they will be magnified and multiplied. Come to think of it, there is so much to look forward to in the coming year, there is hope in this coming new year. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
12.30.02 Meeting Paul
Getting back to Cebu last Sunday, I thought, meant I would just be counting the days to 2003 with nary anything special. In the morning of yesterday though, I received a text from Paul Meim, a long-time friend from highschool, who was in town for a short visit. It was a pleasant sort of a reunion as we spent lunch at Cafe Ad with Jerry, Matt and Kyle (food was great...lechon buffet for only P149! yum!). We talked about old stuff and how we were back in the 80's (hehe) and it was fun remembering these past events. However, the biggest news we talked about is not about the past but about the future (of Paul, that is!). Not to preempt anything, but if any of our friends gets to read this post, just ask Paul, the guy who is always hyper. Next year is something to really be hyper about. But then again, I'll just keep that a secret.

TAKING A BREAK - from everything
I decided to a take a break from everything - work, business, jaycees, blogging, EVERYTHING! - just to find myself and what I really wanted! The 10 days that we spent in Manila was an eye opening experience. Though I never found out exactly what I wanted...I got the chance to watch a beautiful Manila Bay sunset with Linnor, Matthew, Kyle, Papa, Mama, Junnie, Mitzi, and May. I toured Intramuros and Fort Santiago for the first time in my life. I got the ride of my life in the Log Jam at the Enchanted Kingdom. I had the pleasure of enjoying the skies with Matt and Kyle on their latest plane ride. I got eliminated in the San Beda Trip to Jerusalem. Shopped-till-we-dropped with Linnor at Tutuban... For the past 10 days my life was unstructured, no schedules, no appointments, no meetings. I just went with the flow. I'm back in Cebu now. I still don't have all the answers! But I found out a couple of things: I love my family more than anything else, I want to enjoy more sunsets, I'm taking the kids to Corregidor and Ocean Adventure, and the ultimate realization is - Linnor and I are going to Switzerland next year!
HOME SWEET HOME!
Arrived today from our 10-day Christmas vacation in Manila. The plane ride back home was quick though the flight got delayed for an hour took PAL so what else is new?. Nevertheless, it was still a treat to Matthew and Kyle as they sat in awe of the sky, the sea and the islands below. When asked what part of the vacation is memorable, they would answer in unison: "All!". Jerry and I figured before we took this trip that we should make it unlike the past vacations we had where we saw nothing but the same old malls. The idea of having an educational trip soon cropped up. Having gone to most of our listed places to visit (see Christmas Vacation entry dated Dec. 26) made the whole trip a really great experience. Together with the kids, Jerry and I look forward to the next long vacation to see the other places in our wish list.
DLS-Z REUNION
Had a get-together with long-time friends from highschool last night at Tequila Joe's, Alabang Town Center where we caught up with each other's life chika. Though it was my 2nd time this year to be with them, it felt like we were never apart. The nice thing about seeing old friends and I don't mean the age is the bond shared by everyone that bridges time and distance. No matter how over-played the stories were told, we still had the same degree of fun as when these past events first happened. It was really great seeing you all: Clare, Arlene, Jing, Gerie, Anna, Isabel and Patty! Mwamwa! Kitakits!

CHRISTMAS VACATION !
This is just a short list of what we have been up to since we got to Manila:
Dec 18 - Arrived at 7pm alone to attend our Finance Meeting and company Christmas Party on the 19th
Dec 19 - Pa and Ma brought me to the office along EDSA after dropping by the Manila Doctors' Hospital for Mama's test results. Had a short AM meeting with my counterparts in the different groups... Irene, Del, Leo, Chito, Ahlelie, Mel, Lito and Grace...Had a hearty lunch at Something Fishy, Eastwood. Attended the Christmas Party to wait out Jerry, Matt and Kyle's arrival.
Dec 20 - Jerry, the kids, Pa, Ma and May and I were jampacked inside Papa's car to have lunch at Kenny Rogers at UN. Spent a couple of hours at Museo Pambata where we had a fun and educational tour... Will try to post some pictures soon. Then met up with Junnie at Fort Santiago for another tour and more photo ops. The kids really had fun clowning around while learning about Jose Rizal. In fact, we all did. Took our late snacks at Harbor View where we tried to pose for more pictures using the beautiful sunset at the bay as our backdrop.
Dec 21 - Spent the entire day at the Enchanted Kingdom. Tried the Rialto, Dodgem, roller coaster, balloon ride, carousel, Anchors Away and Log Jam... May and Mitzi were the braver souls who tried the Space Shuttle.
Dec 22 - Happy 36th Anniversary Pa and Ma! We all met up at Greenbelt 3 then ate a hearty buffet at Mingoys where Junnie and I split the tab. The food was great...and the price too. :D Then Junnie went to meet up with some friends while the rest of us went on to the Eastwood Night Market at Libis. Surprisingly, Jerry and I didn't fall prey to last minute panic buying!
Dec 23 - Jerry and I went to SM for last minute panic buying harharhar! well at least, unlike the tiangge, SM accepts credit cards!. Then heavy snack cum light dinner at our cousin Ateng's new house followed.
Dec 24 - Lunch at Junnie and Mitzi's. Then...real last minute panic buying! Unbelievable!... Mass at the subdivision at 8pm...Followed by games and potluck dinner. It was great seeing all our neighbors with their kids and grandkids in tow. Since everybody seemed game and cooperative, this year's Christmas Eve homeowners' party was a huge success. Of course, the kids stayed up late for the much-awaited exchange of gifts. Oh the looks on everyone's faces as we opened all the gifts! :D
Dec 25 - MERRY CHRISTMAS! Woke up late...Went house-hunting for Papa and Mama...Then had bibingka, palitaw, pancit luglug and halo-halo (native yummies) at Via Mare Alabang Town Center...
Today - Left the kids with the grannies so Jerry and I could do some business. We went to Tutuban and the Center Mall to buy stocks for reselling when we get back home... And as I am blogging this, Jerry and the kids are busy playing Monopoly... Oops, they just decided to get some fries...Will be back to blog again asap.

12.18.2002 Jun and Nicole
Had a pleasant surprise yesterday when Mimi (Salome) called to say that Junjun and wife Nicole are in town and that they were planning to visit our home. I knocked-off early from work to attend to Matthew's review and to meet our balikbayan guests. Junjun still looks the same as when I last saw him more than 10 years ago except for the hair. He used to have curly hair very much like Gary V.'s but now he is wearing it straight. It gave him a different character. It was Jerry's and my first time to meet his wife, Nicole who looked young and gracious.
Their visit was a short one but we planned to get together after we get back from Manila on the 29th. Looking forward to that!
