It was Jerry's second time, while it was my first time to see the place. Thanks to my good friend from high school in DLS-Z who opened her impressive condo for our 2-days-2 nights stay. She even gave us valuable sightseeing, shopping and food tips!
Together with Jerry, I had fun doing these...
- spending time with friends...
- taking the MRT and experiencing one of the most efficient transport systems in the world...
- blending in with the locals and people of other cultures...
- taking the Duck tour for an hour of sightseeing...
- seeing the Boat Quay, Merlion Park, Suntec City, Night Safari, Orchard Road at night, Clarke Quay, Forbidden City Bar, hawkers, Sim Lim, Little India, Orchard Road at daytime, Mt. Faber...
- touching the little sharks and manta rays in Underwater World, Sentosa...
- seeing a fantastic view of Singapore and neighboring Indonesia and Malaysia aboard the Carlsberg's Sky Tower...
- sampling the famous fish head curry, laksa, chicken rice, prawn noodle soup, roti prata, sugar cane and lime juice, one shot of vodka kiwi inside a -12degree bar...
- shopping...
Our trip was simply too short and we would have wanted to spend a day or two more. It would have been nice seeing more of the place, tasting more of the exotic foods and meeting up with Singapore-based Marikit sisters! The short trip however did not stop us from taking in as much of what the place could offer. Singapore was a totally new experience for me and I still have a lot more reasons why we should go back... someday... soon.
Have you been to Singapore? What did you enjoy seeing/doing the most while there?
never been to s'pore but would love to see the place someday.
ReplyDeletei learned from another blog that one can actually touch a stingray at the Underwater World. and you seconded this fact. it'll be cool to experience this.
HI EVI!
ReplyDeleteI was hesitant to touch the creature at first, but enjoyed it after a few attempts. Oops, I think I had my entry wrong. That's a sting ray and not a manta ray.
hi linnor!
ReplyDeletei'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay here in our adoptive country. your kwento reminds me so much of the time that hubby & I spent a long weekend here years ago, long before we even planned on living here. pasyal galore talaga! ang saya noh?
HI JOJO!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand now why our kababayans would move to Singapore. I only have positive comments about the place (as long as we don't talk about "that distinctive smell" that assaults you in a very crowded MRT, ehehe).
never been there, but would love to visit the place one day..that's cool that a friend could lend you a place during the stay.
ReplyDeleteHi Linnor, I've been there once, many years back. I would definitely want to go back and bring the kids along, too. We went to Jurong Bird Park and Sentosa Island. 15T for the both of you? that's a good deal! We're planning on coming home this Christmas, I wouldn't mind a side trip to Singapore!
ReplyDeleteHope you don't feel bitin. Just keep thinking of what you'll do when you go back! :)
ReplyDeleteSingapore holds a dear place in my travelling experience. It was the first country outside of the Philippines i first visited. Since then 16 other countries and counting.
ReplyDeletewent to the same places you went including Siloso Beach and riding a gondola in Sentosa Park, shopping along Orchard Road and hearing mass with a lot of Filipinas in the choir.
I think we spent P15K 11 years ago :P great you looked hung up.
HI ANALYSE!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad there are cheaper ways to get to Singapore (Cebu Pacific, Tiger, Jetstar) these days. It cost us about the same fare as 2 Cebu-Manila-Cebu (regular) tickets from PAL. Plus, having a friend in S'pore added to the savings. :)
HI NICE!
The kids would surely love seeing Sentosa among other attractions in S'pore. It would be nice to take the kids there. ;) Hmm, I better save up for my boys. Hehehe...
HI PINAYHEMI!
Haay...You're right. Actually medyo bitin talaga... :(
At least di na masyadong mahal to get there if there's an opportunity to go back. :)
HI JUNNIE!
P15k 11 years ago included cost of your hotel accommodation and tour package. Now it's just the fare. Hehehe... It would be nice to visit it again, the place where you spent your honeymoon. ;)
i definitely enjoyed the food..i had a great time.
ReplyDeleteHI LEIRA!
ReplyDeleteAy ang sasarap! There's still more that I haven't tried. Sayang...
Singapore is a nice place to bring the kids. I dove with the sharks in the aquarium and had a fun experience. I'm sure your kids will love the Science Centre and all the other attractions.
ReplyDeleteThis is also a country which is run like a corporation, a very efficient one.
HI LOVE!
ReplyDeleteIf budget permits, we'll plan for another trip to Singapore with the kids. :) They'd love the variety of things to see, eat and do there.
wow, nice pics. i'd love to go to singapore too. hopefully soon :)

ReplyDeleteHI DENDEN!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Mag-eenjoy ka talaga. :)
i have been to singapore countless times, mostly in transit from other countries the past 10 years. despite the many times i have been there, it still amazes me, sometimes, if i do not stay overnight, i still take the free tours from airport.
ReplyDeleteHI SEXY MOM!
ReplyDeleteLucky you... I didn't know they had free tours from the airport. Hmmm.... First-timer kasi ako. Hehehe. But after taking the MRT a few times, one gets the hang of it agad. One good thing (among many) talagang comfortable and more efficient to commute there than in the Phils.
my first trip to singapore was for vacation and i knew right there and then that i want to live here! ayan, 6 years and counting, we're here pa rin. :-)
ReplyDeleteglad you had a great time!
HI TIN!
ReplyDeleteI guess if given a really really good opportunity in Singapore, I'd consider moving. Bagay sa akin ang Singapore kasi OC ako. Hehehe. And it's not too far away from the Phils. :)
