Jobstreet Career Expo In Cebu

It was a gruelling 2 days as our company participated in the Jobstreet Career Expo in Cebu this year. Together with some other IT companies and call centers, we set up our booth at the Ayala Center Cebu the night of Thursday. Starting Friday morning up to late afternoon of Saturday, we saw a continuous trickle of interested applicants both fresh-graduates and those working and looking for new options in their careers.

We had about a hundred registrants for the code camp we plan to hold in Cebu for the first time. This is a 6-week training program (with paid allowance) for fresh-graduates where they get to immerse themselves in the different technologies we use. After rounds of eliminations, out of about 3 groups, the winning group gets a cash prize, a free trip to Hongkong Disneyland and the chance to be employed by our company.

Thanks to those who volunteered and took their time off from the office for a few hours (Erle, Jann, Jevica, Bong, Korina, JM, Teody, Diana, Harold, Jackie), or manning the booth would have been more daunting for Jerry, Rox, Mafe and me.

---

After the career expo, I found myself suffering from a bad case of cold and migraine. The fresh calamansi juice at Oh Georg helped a bit together with several doses of Decolgen forte and Biogesic. But the virus proved more potent early this morning (Sunday) as I suddenly developed a mild fever, rendering me unable to join Rox & Mafe at Costabella beach. *Sigh*

I'm feeling a lot better now, I hope the virus has run its course. Off to sleep...

    HI JUNNIE!
We really appreciate the volunteers' help. It's proof too that they're proud of their company hence they're willing to invite more people to join.

I'm not too excited about the trip :(
