Perfect Wrong Timing

yellow cab
ooOoo

Jerry got back from Manila last Thursday. Good thing super typhoon Reming did not hit Metro Manila directly or PAL's domestic flights would have been cancelled.

For a person like me with a short supply of patience, I was glad I didn't have to drive. I abhor the way taxicab and jeepney drivers weave their way in traffic! Now that Jerry's back in Cebu, I get to rest from the wheel for a few days. Hehehe... However, as he was driving me and the kids home that night, there was a sudden knocking sound from within the car. It turned out to be engine trouble. It was perfect timing that Jerry was already around when the car chose to conk out. Or else... who knows how I would have panicked.

Yesterday, we had the car towed to the shop for repair. Friday and early today, the kids, Jerry and I took cabs to and from our destination. Save for the expense (Php 82 to Php 92 each way), it was rather convenient hopping on and off of it, just like the old times. Never mind the way they drive and weave in traffic! As for the boys, it was an entirely new experience.

* The car is now fixed

  2. HI JERRY!
Oh yeah, we did try the ubiquitous yellow cab in New York with Junnie.

I wonder how Matt must have felt when you took the jeep this morning. Well this is one learning experience for him, right? Soon he will have to take the jeep or cab on his own.

  3. Not a perfect timing but a little miracle that we usually fail to acknowledge.

I could not imagine how you would have reacted if the engine trouble happened before Jerry came.

It would have been a humbling experience for you and the kids! Yes?

Again if you are in a hurry, you have to DRIVE SLOWLY.

  4. HI PAPARAZZI!
    Yes, a miracle indeed!

If it happened before Jerry arrived, I would have parked it by the side of the road and hailed a taxi for home. Hehehe. Probably cursed under my breath too. :D

  6. HI LEAH!
It's a big relief now that the car is fixed. Not that I don't like taking the cab. It's actually more expensive for us to commute since we are usually 4 passengers shuttling from home to work/school and back. :D

  14. HI BUNDI!
Thanks for the heads-up! Will update my links asap. :D

    HI KAT!
That pic is part of the wall of Yellow Cab Pizza. Hehehe. I failed to take actual pics of the boys riding the cab. Sayang.

Hey glad to meet one of my blurkers. :D

    HI DELISH!
Glad you found the time to bloghop. :D

    HI MIMI!
Di ko masyado na-notice yung amoy ng lpg-run taxi. :D Baka di pa lpg-run yung nasakyan namin.

May left yesterday. Off kasi sya ng Sunday-Monday, so perfect timing din to accompany Mama to Cebu. They're both back in Manila now after 2 very busy days in Cebu. Sinulit ko kasi si May sa pag-source ng materials and pag-gawa ng envelopes for the invitation.

    HI JUNNIE!
If Jerry & I weren't able to ride in one yellow cab in NY, the trip wouldn't have been complete. Never mind if it was just a short ride from Brooklyn Bridge to the Empire State building. Hehehe. It was a welcome treat for the feet tired from all the brisk walking! :D

    HI MIMI!
Kami merong pasok kaya no choice. But we relaxed the schedules. Full-flexy kami on those days as long as we render 8 hrs/day. ;)

    HI ANALYSE!
Yeah, cars are men's turf. I don't intend to be an expert in auto mechanics. Driving in crowded streets is bad enough for me. Hahaha.

Louna taking a ride in the jeepney or tricycle in the Phils is a great idea! Pls post pics of her in one if you get the chance during your visit. :D
