Jerry flew to Macau last Tuesday and since then, I've been driving myself to work, driving from work to Matt's school after his basketball practice, driving from school to the laundry to pick up our clean clothes and finally driving home. In a day, I drive an average of 2 hours! Wow, that's just like working in Makati and going home to Paranaque or Las Pinas!
Yesterday was my all time high when I spent a total of three hours on the wheel. It was partly due to rush hour traffic and partly because I had to get the kids from the house and drive all the way back to Crossroads to attend the birthday dinner for my SIL and send-off party for nephew John. It was a pendulous route that got me exhausted right after.
Work has been kind to me so far. If the load stays as it is, then it's a welcome thing for me. I could get used to this slow pace just as I got used to too much paperwork in my previous job. I'm just a bit unsettled, a nagging thought at the back of my head tells me there could be more than meets the eye. I hope it's nothing that's too much to handle.
So going back to the birthday dinner last night, it was held at Big Mao Crossroads. And as expected, the food was great. I'm glad I only took small portions of each kind. And regardless of how little I got, I ended up still satiated.
Ayayay, I’m seriously starting to worry about shedding off these unwanted calories. *Sigh*

Unwanted pounds? Meron ka ba nun, Ms. L? Which reminds me, Big Mao was the resto my SIL treated us the night before our departure to Ontario and yup, the food's great. Miss ko na talaga mga kainan dyan.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your new work's so flexi, just take your time.
HI JINKAI!
ReplyDeleteBottom-heavy ako after my third pregnancy pero di lang halata sa mga pics. :)
i was going to say the same thing. i'm baffled why you're so worried about extra pounds - i don't see them! at least sa 'yo hindi halata. sa akin, obvious na obvious because i'm face-heavy!
ReplyDeletei'm glad things are going well at your new work. please don't worry about things until they actually happen... who knows - they may not at all :)
that's a lot driving. buti na lang, temporary lang.
ReplyDeletecute cute talaga ni Jake!
Again, that is one hazard of being a hands-on and doting Mama to your lovely kids. But of course you are not resigning as parent to your three sons, are you? A word of caution though--You have to drive slow if you are in a hurry. And driving is a full time occupation. Ingat lang!
ReplyDeleteHI VANGIE!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! That's because I only post pics of myself where I look emaciated. If I post a full-body shot, the flabs will definitely be there from the waist down. Ew. :P
please don’t worry about things until they actually happen… who knows - they may not at all
Yes, I should look at work that way. Thanks! :D
HI ANP!
Thank God for automatic transmission! Hehehe...
HI PAPARAZZI!
Like what AnP said, buti temporary lang. ;) Parenting is a full-time job and its something I have committed myself to more than any other job out there. If resources permit it, I definitely would want to hire a family driver para di na ako or si Jerry ma-stress out. Hehehe. :D
i don't see any unwanted pounds and i'm sure you burn your calories easily esp if you're always running around, and running after cute jake. :)
ReplyDeletehmmm..busy, busy si linnnor! unwanted pounds? bottom heavy? haha--wait til you see me! and i don't even have kids yet! hmph! some of us (like you for instance!) are blessed with very good genes! jake and cute cute! umiiyak ba yan? he sems to me like a very bubbly kid, di katulad ng mga students ko na lagi na lang may sumpong at ang daling umiyak...good mommy skills linnor!
ReplyDeletenothing in this world can be more exciting than a bit of pressure sometimes....life can be boring without a little spice.
ReplyDeletesana wag masobrahan...how was the weekend?
one of the things i admire about you is your ability to be a loving mom, with your family as your top priority, and a career woman at the same time. sana someday, with kids of our own, i can be a superwoman rin like you.
ReplyDeleteI'm back from Macau...Sayang I had to miss these parties...not for the food (coz I also need to lose weight) but for the experience! I agree with Linnor that being with family is always a priority! :)
ReplyDeletehey girl, you don't look like you have unwanted pounds at all and i'm so inggit with you! Imagine, you have had 3 babies and you still managed to look downright slim! What about me????? One baby and 8 years later still fighting the flab? haha di na nga uso kay Simon (my hubs) the excuse that, those are post-baby fats! hahahaha
ReplyDeleteHI DENDEN!
ReplyDeleteI think those long drives also helped keep those unwanted pounds at bay. Well... I hope... Hehehe...
HI ANNABANANA!
Wow, that's flattering ha. I have my bruha moments with the elder kids too pag sobrang kulit. Hehehe...
HI JUNNIE!
I hope so too. Weekend was good but it would have been a lot better if Jerry were around. ;)
HI TIN!
That's another flattering comment. I'm sure you will be. With your involvement in civic causes, that's already a tough act to follow. :D
HI JERRY!
We missed you so much! Thank God for your safe trip. We're glad to have you back home. ;D
HI CHRISTINE!
Salamat! Salamat talaga sa compliment! The day I post a full-body shot of myself is the day I will say na I have victoriously shed the unwanted pounds na. Sa ngayon, para hindi halata, facial and upper body pics lang muna. Hehehe.
Hi Linnor!!!! Been pretty tied up lately I didn't realize you switched URLs :)
ReplyDeleteI drive an average of a little more over 2 hours as well. I so know the feeling of being "driver ng bayan" hehe! Drive safe!
Btw, if you want to check out some more Pahiyas pictures (I went a little wild with my digicam), I linked to my online album :)
HI BUNDI!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I do try to drive safely, but sometimes these other drivers on the road seem to conspire against me. They either drive too slow or hog the lines they aren't supposed to be on. Hay, I do get tensed a lot of times. :P
