Midway through the 4-day weekend/break, Jerry decided to take the family on a long drive to see the scenic north of Cebu island. The roads were surprisingly good and paved making it a smooth drive for our 2-month old Carens.

Shortly before lunch we were on our way, bringing with us bags of chips, bottles of water, soda and juice, and Jollibee chicken, burgers and fries. We had our pit stop at the Alegre Beach Resort, at Sogod town 70 kilometers or about an hour and a half drive from Cebu City.

It was our first time there and we were impressed by the sight. Next break we get, we'll definitely think of Alegre...

Our drive up north took us up to San Remigo town after Bogo. The white sand public beach was too inviting but we had to head back home to Ma. Luisa for a visit to A-ma. I wish we have another long break soon. It would be good to linger in one of the nice places we saw.

  1. There is a really great looking sand bar in San Remigio locally known as Hibitngil (don't know about the spelling) or Funny Island (could be Fanny Island). Many great places to see in our own backyard.

    HI JUNNIE!
Nah, Jake is usually clowning around especially if made to pose in front of a camera... This was on of the occasions...

When you get here, I'll let you drive the Kia Rondo/Carens. :) Oo nga, so when are you and Mitzi visiting? :D

  4. I have tried traveling the whole stretch of Southern Cebu, the highway well paved and concreted, from Dumaguete with your Papa Rhante.

Seeing the northern portion would still remain a dream until Minoy and Mimi will ask me to go to a sound SLEEP to realize that DREAM! Sana soon!

Paging the young, lovely couple from Bantayan! :-)

  5. HI PAPARAZZI!
Had you extended your trip, we would have taken you there. No need for pre-planned itineraries... For busy people, any available time should do it. :P

  6. Ang ganda! They did not do anything with the terrain, instead, the facilities were adapted according to the slopes.

  7. HI JULIE!
Precisely, that's what makes it appealing. Never mind if I have to walk all the way down to the beach. :D

  8. we spent our honeymoon there. the suites are fabulous. pero the beach is just a short stretch lang, so best not to go during peak season.

  11. HI MEEYA!
Those pics are just from where we were standing - reception area. I'm sure the other parts are as beautiful if not more.

Have to spend more time with these boys... It's to keep our "sanity" amidst grueling scheds. Heehehe...
