Kids of Absentee Parents

With our crazy work schedule where Jerry and I get home no earlier than 7PM most of the time, I was almost certain something was bound to give... In my mind, I had to give some slack to my OC-ness in demanding motivating all my boys to maintain their academic standing. It just wasn't possible for us to keep tabs or be involved with their studies as much as we wanted to.

Last Saturday (Oct 6th) was the report card distribution for my two elder boys and it was such a big surprise for these "absentee" parents to see both cards with an average of 95... Matt (high school 2) ranked 9th while Kyle (Grade 5 and who missed points last year for a medal) ranked 13th in their respective (honors') classes.

Almost unbelievable... but true.

  1. i think yung sense of achievement and discipline has been imbibed deeply in your kids na, so parang automatic na lang sa kanila to do well in school, with or without supervision. :)

i'm very very proud of your boys! (as i'm sure you and jerry are, too!) :)

  3. Kaya let's shout altogether now: SILA ANG ATING TAGUMPAY. Siempre, kasali pa rin ako!

Indeed, placing in top 5 and/or 15 is getting to be a wholesome habit! Cheers, Kiddos! :-)

Praise and thank the Good Lord for all these blessings!

  4. I was almost expecting average/satisfactory grades for both of them knowing that Jerry and I were not 100% with them when we think we needed to. The result made me super proud and happy AND relieved. Sa totoo lang! :D

    HI PINAYHEKMI!
We feel very blessed... It would have been easy for them to just be complacent about their studies...

The achievements of children reflect back on the kind of parents and parenting they have.
