Jerry's mom, brother and sisters are mostly based in Cebu. So every December, everyone in the family is bound to gain weight from all the dinners being hosted by each family member. Our treat was set on Dec. 22, the least busy day in our schedules.

Since my kitchen skill is close to nil, Jerry and I put together some sort of fusion dining by assembling some of our favorite dishes bought from the restos. We had authentic Spanish paella and steaks from Arano's, smoked milkfish and grilled pork from Cheaverz, and roasted chicken from... I forgot where...

Though we bought most of the dishes, more popular were the Japanese food we prepared ourselves - cold soba with special sauce, wasabi and nori strips, AND my very own version of the kani sarada (crabmeat, rice etc. in nori cones). The guests simply kept coming back for more!
